Stumptown Comics Fest Calls it Quits, Merges with Rose City Con
Sad news for indie comics fans and creators in the Northwest; Portland’s Stumptown Comics Fest is no more. It will be folded into the Rose City Comic Con to preserve some of the indie spirit, but will cease to exist as an event on its own.

The Best Comic I Read This Year: Trippe’s “Something Terrible”
To me, the year’s best comic, without a doubt, was “Something Terrible,” Dean Trippe’s autobiographical web comic about being a victim of childhood sexual abuse, the years of trauma that followed and the healing power of superhero and fantasy characters, most prominently, Batman. It’s an extraordinary piece of art and an incredibly brave endeavor.
