Dorkin and Dyer’s Metal Men
While I miss the days when I could stroll into a comic shop and pick up a copy of Milk & Cheese or Action Girl, it’s great to know the husband and wife writing team Evan Dorkin and Sarah Dyer and creators of those books can still make us laugh. Their Metal Men shorts for Cartoon Network are popping up on YouTube and CN on your TV.

There are only a handful of people alive who can actually claim to have changed comics; Don McGregor is one one of them. From writing the first interracial kiss into a mainstream comic to creating one of the first graphic novels, Don has been a pioneer the world of comics.
The Best Comic I Read This Year: Trippe’s “Something Terrible”
To me, the year’s best comic, without a doubt, was “Something Terrible,” Dean Trippe’s autobiographical web comic about being a victim of childhood sexual abuse, the years of trauma that followed and the healing power of superhero and fantasy characters, most prominently, Batman. REVIEW: Justice League 3000 #1
We don’t run a lot of single-issue reviews but every once in awhile there’s a book that deserves a look, for good or bad. In this case, it’s Justice League 3000 #1, which is, for all intents and purposes, supposed to replace the decades-running Legion of Super-Heroes as DC’s super-team of the future. Steranko Sees Soap Opera Instead of Action on AOS (updated)

So she took the time to interview three primatologists about their appreciation of — and apprehension regarding — the Apes films.
