13 COVERS: Sink Your Fangs Into DRACULA LIVES!

A gallery with bite — featuring Luis Dominguez, Earl Norem, Neal Adams and MORE…

You think Dracula and comics, you think Marvel’s Bronze Age series The Tomb of Dracula. I mean, why wouldn’t you? Marv Wolfman, Gene Colan and Tom Palmer took what could have been a cliched ripoff and turned it into a bona fide classic.

The Tomb of Dracula wasn’t alone at the Haunted House of Ideas, however. There was also Dracula Lives!, one of Marvel’s many black-and-white mags that, sadly, didn’t last as long as we would have wanted.

We’ve never done a feature on Dracula Lives! but with Halloween upon us, now’s the perfect time.

So check out these 13 COVERS and take a bite out of some horror comics history. (By the by, the series only lasted 13 issues and an annual, so there’s a BONUS 14th cover in there for ya!)

  1. Wow! I remember this! Didn’t even look in an issue though! (Not enough allowance!)

  2. I would pay good money to see a movie made out of Annual 1. Dracula going on a rampage in “modern” Times Square?!? G’wan, Drac! Give us the madness that Jason “taking Manhattan” only teased at!

  3. Love the paintings and Doc Savage in the background of issue 1.
