An 85th ANNIVERSARY celebration of the Clown Prince of Crime…
April 24 is the 85th anniversary of 1940’s Batman #1 — one of the greatest comic books of all time, very much in part because it featured the debuts of the Joker and Catwoman.
Well, we just wrapped up CATWOMAN WEEK, so now it’s JOKER WEEK!
What does this mean? It means seven days of tributes to the Clown Prince of Crime, from our crew of 13th Dimension regulars — just like we did for the Feline Fatale.
We’re already up and running, so check out the links below. In fact, bookmark this post because we’ll be updating it with links as we go along throughout JOKER WEEK!
And, hey, how about Walt Grogan’s latest banner up there?
Delicious!

I’m sure there will be a remembrance of when the Joker had his own self-titled mag back in the mid-1970s–with that very Joker logo in Walt’s banner up there.
Loved it myself–I was so disappointed that it lasted only 9 issues. Had issues 6, 7 and 8, where he faces off with Sherlock Holmes, Lex Luthor and the Scarecrow, respectively. It was intriguing that Batman never appeared in these.
My favorite is the Luthor one, where the two accidentally switch personalities
Looking forward to it, guys! Thanks for the announcement.

I, too, enjoyed the series (Vol 1, as the younger generation calls it now) and at one point had all issues 1-9. I was aware that there was a 10th issue made and was promoted at the time in the letters page. It eventually was printed in 2019 in The Joker: The Bronze Age Omnibus. Joker vs Sherlock Homles was the first comic book I ever bought, strangely enough because I was rereading Sherlock Holmes. Years later after thousands of comics and a ton of movies figures and other collectables, what a wonderful world I accidentally uncovered for myself. Good times.

Love the banners too, by the way!

I’m hoping to see Jim Beard’s take on the great “Brave and the Bold” Joker appearances. Been too long he’s been away…

Jim has something coming this week, but it won’t be that!

I can’t believe you went an entire week and didn’t mention Gaggy!
