Dig NEAL ADAMS’ BATMAN #237-Inspired Variant Cover for THE JOKER #6

Night of the Talon…?

If you haven’t been following along, Neal Adams has been doing retailer-exclusive variant covers for DC’s The Joker. Like the covers for Neal Adams Month in 2016, each is a riff on an Adams classic.

So dig his cover for The Joker #6 — a take-off on 1971’s Batman #237:

And here’s the original:

The covers are the brainchild of Ryan Hetkowski of State of Comics in Plymouth, Michigan.

We’ve had homages to Batman #251, Batman #227, Batman #234 and Batman #244. (Adams had to skip The Joker #5 due to illness but was spelled by Bill Sienkiewicz.)

As usual, you can get raw editions, signed editions, CGC editions, you name it. Click here for what State of Comics is doing. The book will also be available at Adams’ online store, which you should check out here.

A few thoughts:

— Adams was originally slated to do five covers but I believe there’s at least one more in the works.

— Wanna see what Adams has to say about the Batman #237 cover? Of course you do. Click here.

— Wanna see what the late Denny O’Neil had to say about the issue — which features comics’ greatest Halloween story? Of course you do. Click here.

The Joker #6 is due Aug. 10.
