BATMAN ENIGMA: A FIRST LOOK at the Comic That Takes You Back to the KEATON Era

EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW: From the masterminds of Batman Meets Godzilla…

Fans have long wanted DC to produce a Batman comic set in the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton universe that conveniently ignores the Joel Schumacher years.

It’s never happened, so sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands.

Enter writer Eric Elliott and artist Ian Miller with Batman Enigma, a free, black-and-white fan comic that takes place after Batman Returns, with its own cast of “guest stars,” such as Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face and Robin Williams as the Riddler. (The late actor was in contention for the role, which would ultimately go to Jim Carrey.)

Like Elliott’s popular Batman Meets Godzilla — the soon-to-be finished project that features Miller and other artists — the unofficial story will run across three issues, debuting online later in November.

    • Fantastic! The only suggestion I would offer is that Alfred needs to say “Sir” or “Master Bruce” every so often so as to capture the dignity that Michael Gough brought to the role.
