Denny O’Neil was born May 3, 1939.

Denny O’Neil is my all-time favorite comics writer because, obviously, of his early-’70s Batman run, particularly his collaborations with Neal Adams. Naturally, I also admire his and Adams’ Green Lantern/Green Arrow.
But O’Neil — who turns 77 — also wrote so many other characters that I’m going against type with a 13 COVERS salute sans Bats and GL/GA.
Just check out some of the great artists he’s been associated with over the years (without even getting into his years as an editor).
Happy birthday, Denny!
