EXCLUSIVE: A full-on reprint of The Incredible Hulk #180 is coming …

Quick, what issue did Wolverine debut in?

A lot of fans would reflexively answer “Hulk #181!” And they’d be forgiven for thinking that because that’s his first full appearance and he’s right there on the cover:

But of course, his first real appearance was the issue before — a cameo at the end of 1974’s The Incredible Hulk #180:

And that issue will be released in January by Marvel as a Facsimile Edition — with the original ads, letters and whatnot.

A few thoughts:

— As the solicitation notes, Hulk #181 had its own Facsimile Edition already: It came out in March and was so popular it got a second printing. A reprint of a reprint! So it’s pretty cool that the first part of the story is getting its own Facsimile Edition.

— I always like to compare the Facsimile Edition price against the price of an original copy. In this case, a high-grade, unslabbed copy of Hulk #180 recently sold on eBay for a nice, even $500.
