At first glance, you probably think this Thing commission is pretty odd and not well drawn by me:
But, it gets a little less odd when you realize the image comes from a comic panel originally from Fantastic Four #15, published in 1963. (Script by Stan Lee, art by Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers.)
This printed panel had the small Thing image in black and white. However, the research I was provided was in color. It is no doubt from a reprint the patron had read.
Regardless of the different versions, my finished art is probably more interesting in color.
By the way, for privacy reasons, I typically don’t share the name of the person who requests work. But, with this one I’ll make an exception (with his permission, of course). This clever commission came from Marko Worden.
Hilarious idea, Marko!
