The Cheeky Reason WONDER WOMAN Took the STAR-SPANGLED KID to Court

In the earliest days of the Golden Age, everyone was ripping each other off, and sometimes it even made its way to court.

Here’s Kerry:

I’ve edited this Wonder Woman/Star-Spangled Kid commission slightly. I digitally added pink briefs to Wonder Woman for internet viewing. Even though I think casual nudity is often hilarious, much of the world does not. I try not to (overly) offend when there’s no real need to do so.

Naturally, the joke is dependent on the viewer knowing that Wonder Woman’s outfit has a star pattern on her bottom half, much like Star-Spangled Kid’s top. Here’s the Kid’s debut page:

By the way, did you know Wonder Woman’s original outfit didn’t have a skirt? She actually wore short culottes. Look it up!

  2. As a very young kid I knew nothing about the Star Spangled Kid. I had only seen him on the cover of an All Star Comics when he was part of The Super Squad. But I loved that costume so much that I made Star Spangled Kid my CB handle (can’t get more 70s than that).
