Euphorix: the last remaining stronghold of freedom in the Vega star system. When word reaches the Omega Men that the Citadel has broken though Euphorix’s impenetrable force field, Kalista leads a crew of Omega Men to the planet’s rescue—not realizing that it’s a trap to uncover the real method of breaching the shield. Featuring the historic first appearance of the bastich bounty hunter Lobo, this facsimile edition of The Omega Men #3 presents the classic story with all its original ads and fraggin’ attitude!

A few thoughts:

— Ew ^^.

— Hand to my heart, I completely forgot that the Czarnian bounty hunter’s first appearance was in The Omega Men. Neat idea for a Facsimile Edition.

Obligatory Price Comparison: An unslabbed, high-grade copy of The Omega Men #3 — released in February 1983 — recently sold on eBay for $250. The Facsimile Edition is four smackers.

  1. Always felt as though Lobo must be an in-house DC favorite, as insiders there seemed to love their anti-hero more than the general public has. I’m sure he must have his fans, but never have really seen a grassroots hew and cry for more Lobo. I realize the character has been popular among cosplayers who love that anti-hero attitude — or did they really just have leftover make-up from the last KISS concert they attended in costume? Out of the many facsimiles they could be issuing, why this one?

  2. I, for one, am happy about this one as I have been collecting the Omega Men run for custom binding, but do not want to pay the premium for issue 3.
