Batman #227 Facsimile Edition, DC. Fans have been clamoring for this, on the strength of the classic Neal Adams cover riffing on Detective Comics #31. Can’t wait to see it in foil. Oh, and the story — by Denny O’Neil, Irv Novick and Dick Giordano — is a nice piece of early ’70s gothic horror, too. (By the way, I had Skittle Bowl, but not Skittle Pool.)

Batman & Robin: Year One — Dynamic Duos #3, DC. Robin goes undercover, and that was always a great Golden Age trope.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Amazing Visions #1, Marvel. A one-shot that presents Lee Bermejo’s recent run of variant covers as a chronological history of Spider-Man, plus commentary and extras. I’m down.

Batman: Bad Seeds — Gotham Central #2, DC. The first issue was solid. (I so miss the original Gotham Central.)

Batman: Bad Seeds — Streets of Gotham #1, DC. A one-shot anthology showing how average Gothamites are dealing with the apocalyptic superbloom. Books like this can be hit or miss but I’m chancing it — and getting the Javier Rodriguez cover.

Archie’s Christmas Spectacular One-Shot, Archie. The Official Comic Book of Christmas is back! Bob Phantom and Black Jack team up, too!

Barbara Gordon: Breakout #6, DC. Really, this is just a fun prison story. Although maybe “fun” isn’t the right word.

The Uncanny X-Men #159 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. Storm becomes a vampire! Timed to the launch of Marvel’s new Midnight line, which is not anything like DC’s Absolute line. Like, at all.

Star Trek: The Edges of the Final Frontier – IDW Classic Collections, IDW. One of my favorite of my Trek works returns to print this week, as David Tipton, J.K. Woodward and I adapt Harlan Ellison’s original teleplay for The City on the Edge of Forever, widely seen as the best episode of Trek ever.
