HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

New History of the DC Universe #1, DC. One of the biggest releases of the year, so far. Mark Waid’s the right guy to write it and I’m looking forward to seeing how he pulls it all together. Artists for this issue include Jerry Ordway and Todd Nauck.

There are also 1,000,006 variants, even a logo sketch cover:

Scott adds: So looking forward to this. DC’s history is in good hands.

Justice League Unlimited #8, DC. The finale to the We Are Yesterday crossover with World’s Finest, which has been a kick.

And it also has a George Perez ’80s postcard variant:

Plus, a classic heroes-and-villains-running-at-each-other variant by Salvador Larocca:

The Flash #22, Green Arrow #25, Green Lantern #24, Superman #27, DC. A bunch more Perez ’80s postcard variant covers!

Also: Dig GA #25’s logo sketch variant (more on that here):

This is not white space. It’s the cover, silly!

The X-Men #136 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. A famous one. ‘Nuff said.

Archie’s Pal, Jughead #78 Facsimile Edition, Archie. Delayed from last October, this reprint from 1961 finally gets its day.

Batman: Ghosts #1 Facsimile Edition, DC. Loeb and Sale’s 1995 Legends of the Dark Knight Special that followed up Batman: Madness (which was released as a Facsimile two weeks ago).

Jack Kirby’s Mister Miracle Artist’s Edition, IDW/DC. Back in print after, what, 10 years? I think I have that right.

Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension

The A.I.M. Collection: Artifacts Memorabilia, and Ephemera from Across The Universe, Smart Pop. This looks hilarious. It’s an in-universe auction catalogue!

Marvel Two-in-One Omnibus Vol. 1, Marvel. Can’t get enough Marvel Two-in-One on the shelf!

Marvel Masterworks: The Fantastic Four Vol. 27, Marvel. The final issues of John Byrne’s historic FF run!

  3. It says something about Perez’s greatness that today’s amazing artists can’t come close to replicating his style. Love Dan Mora, but man oh man, he can’t do Perez.
