GHOSTS ARE PEOPLE TOO: A Sweet Book For the Spooky Kid in All of Us

INSIDE LOOK: Dig Gorey? Dig Burton? Dig Gaiman? Dig this.

Halloween is but a couple days away so it’s the perfect time to check out Ghosts Are People Too, a new illustrated book by Peter Ricq about a ghostly boy’s crush on a living girl. It’s the kind of thing that fans of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton would dig.

The book is being crowdfunded on Kickstarter (click here), so if you love the childhood wonder of things that go bump in the night, you’re in luck.

Check out this EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW:

Ghosts Are People Too is Ricq’s first illustrated book but readers may know him from The League of Super Evil, which aired on Cartoon Network and Disney XD. He’s also a director, musician (with the band Humans) and a graphic novelist too.

“Halloween season has been my favorite season since I was a child,” Ricq said. “It had a sense of danger and adventure and that feeling has never dissipated since. I remember watching Fright Night and The Thing From Another World coming home from trick-or-treating when I was around 7 years old and those moments of counting your treats along with the excitement of monsters on the TV was so magical, more so than any other holiday. I’ve always had a touch of horror, danger and adventure in my work since.”

C’mon, how can you turn away from this face?
