FRANK MILLER’s DARK KNIGHT RETURNS #3 Facsimile Variant Brings the Neon

A cover that switches up the pattern…

Earlier this month we pointed out that Frank Miller was doing something pretty cool with his variants for The Dark Knight Returns Facsimile Editions — namely that he was essentially riffing on his original covers but in his more minimalist, modern style.

Now, we have a look at Issue #3, out April 29:

Now, that’s not a redo of the original Issue #3 cover…

… but it is a definite take on an interior page that just happens to be one of the series’ most iconic:

We haven’t seen his Issue #4 cover yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

  1. I have to admit that the neon variant looks pretty cool. Maybe I’ll even pick it up.

    I’ve always loved that shot of Batman and Robin in mid-air.
