Well, this is eggs-citing.
Boy, it’s great there’s still a lot of life left in the Batman ’66 merchandising license, isn’t it?
Think about it: It’s been a few years now since the major merch deal was announced and there are now more items available — certainly more quality items — than during the original Batmania in 1966.
One of my favorite lines has been NJ Croce’s bendables. These are low-priced, high-quality items with no small amount of kitsch attached. Kind of an ideal marriage of subject matter and product, y’know?
Anyway, I was worried that the company was going to end the line after it produced the show’s seven major characters (plus some key chains and an especially cool miniature Batmobile) — Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Joker, Penguin, Catwoman and Riddler.
But a special figure is scheduled for the beginning of the year: Egghead.
Now, Egghead won’t be available as a single. Instead, he’ll be included in a special five-pack that will also feature Batman, Robin, Batgirl and Riddler. Those last two were not available in NJ Croce’s first Batman ’66 boxed set.
The five-pack, due in January, will carry an SRP of $31.99. (Click here for more NJ Croce coolness.)
Selfish guy that I am, I hope it does well because I can’t get enough of these Batman ’66 bendables: You keep buying, they’ll keep making.
