EVA STRONGBIRD AND THE MARINE: Des Taylor’s Fabulous New Project Is LIVE on KICKSTARTER

DESPOP TUESDAYS!

Eva Strongbird and the Marine — Des Taylor and Robb Pratt’s new project, a love-letter to the Golden Age, pulp adventure and movie serials — is now live on Kickstarter.

The two-part comic — this funding drive is for Issue #1is a bombastic adventure in the vein of the Fleischers’ Superman, Flash Gordon, Indiana Jones, and Zorro.

“Those who love classic war movies will feel right at home in this explosive new universe of espionage, adventure, and high-stakes wartime heroism,” Des sez.

To get you revved up, we have a bunch of new things to show off for you, including four covers and a few trading card rewards (reminiscent of the old ’70s Topps Star Wars cards). Also, check out one of the three exclusive “one of one” covers: Only one of each will be printed, so if you buy one, you’re the only one to get it.

Des and Robb, a longtime Disney animator, are also trying to turn Eva Strongbird into an animated series.

  1. I love WWII, Golden Age, pulp style stories. I want to back this and future work. What is the rating for this work? Does this approach and if so how close does it get to being risqué? Anyone know?

  2. You certainly show a strong Will Eisner influence, which is very good!
