This eagerly anticipated follow-up to The Alex Ross Marvel Comics Poster Book is the first-ever collection of these stunning and dynamic portraits and comes with 37 ready-to-frame, removable art prints as well as an all-new introduction and commentary by Ross, preparatory sketches and ancillary illustrations, and a bonus four-page gatefold of all 37 iconic portraits. These villainous posters showcase Marvel’s rogue’s gallery as you’ve never seen them before, painted in the award-winning, breathtaking style that has made Ross famous.

A few thoughts:

— The 80-page publication is due Sept. 5, 2023 and lists for $29.99.

— The set measures 11 x 0.39 x 16 inches and is a joint effort between Marvel and Abrams ComicArts.

— The portraits are the same as you see on the current run of Marvel variant covers that we’ve been highlighting each week in HOT PICKS. I mean, just check out the Abomination (above). Anyway, there’s also a gatefold that mimics the hero version, which was based on a mural Ross painted at Marvel’s New York headquarters.
