Oldtimes Digest’s latest covers Fisher-Price’s cult-fave action figure line…

Oldtimes Digest’s Jason Young — the guy behind such favorites as An Old School Halloween, Power Trip, and The Wonderful World of Wax Wrappers — has another tribute book coming: Plastic Pioneers: Remembering the Adventure People, about the 1970s-’80s Fisher-Price toy line.

The book has just gone to print and here’s your EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK at the cover:

“What started as an idea has grown into more than 200 full-color pages devoted entirely to one of my favorite toy lines of all time: Fisher-Price’s Adventure People,” sez Jason. “This will be the first book ever devoted entirely to Adventure People, covering the sets, figures, packaging, vintage advertising and so much more. It also includes rare prototype photographs and something I’m especially excited about: first-hand stories and insight from someone who actually worked on the toy line.”

The cover is by artist Chris Bordenca.

“From the beginning, I wanted this book to have a real, hand-painted cover worthy of the toys we’re celebrating, and Chris absolutely delivered,” Jason added.

Jason is taking reservations for the book, which runs $25. There’s no payment required and no obligation to purchase. He’s trying to get a sense of demand while the books are being printed.
