SABRINA/VAMPIRELLA Is the Old-School ARCHIE Crossover You’ve Been Waiting For
COMING IN DECEMBER: Dig that Neal Adams homage cover! I’m not 100 percent sure but Archie Comics may be the reigning king of intercompany crossovers, and in my mind, the best ones are those that trade in the classic Archie house style. Almost every one is subversive to some degree, and one of the funniest concepts yet is being unleashed in December: Sabrina the Teenage Witch/Vampirella #1 — the first part in a miniseries written by Tini Howard, with art by Bill Galvin and Ben Galvin. Dig the solicitation info from Dynamite, featuring Bill Galvin’s two variant covers, based on Neal Adams’ classic Tomb of Dracula #1: SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH/VAMPIRELLA #1 (W) Tini Howard (A) Bill Galvan , Ben Galvan (CA) Bill Galvan IT’S A VAMPIRE WEEKEND! Sabrina Spellman is only half witch. Unlike the other witches, she craves a true, mortal summer vacation. When her aunts make her dream come true – with a side of house-sitting responsibility – Sabrina and Salem move into the beachside town of Chandler’s Cove. Sabrina’s got to hide her magic from her nosy mortal neighbors, but there’s one new roommate who isn’t making that easy: Vampirella! And she’s not asking Sabrina for much…just all the powers of Hell! Yup, it seems Vampirella has a mammoth problem only a wielder of magic can solve! The odd couple of the 21st century bring the fun to the shore, and where they go, only trouble can follow! Brought to you by writer TINI “Spellbinder” HOWARD (Marian Heretic, Sicko, Sirens: Love Hurts), making her Dynamite Debut, with art by BILL “Magician’s Assistant” GALVAN (Archie X Army of Darkness, Radioactive Man, Underdog), with covers by ERIC POWELL, FRANCESCO FRANCAVILLA, Sebastian Piriz, and GALVAN! This issue features a PREMIUM MYSTERY BLIND BAG which contains three limited editions of the issue selected randomly from a range of variant covers exclusive to this title. Please Note: The number of Blind Bags is limited. Allocations may occur. And here’s an unlettered preview: Click here to check out the other covers. The miniseries — which will be either four or six issues — kicks off Dec. 2. — MORE — First-Ever SABRINA OMNIBUS Leads New Wave of Classic ARCHIE Collections in 2027.
