Coming in July is that one-shot that I hinted at here: Batman ’66 Meets the Legion of Super-Heroes, by the Allred family — Lee, Mike and Laura.
It’s the last Batman ’66 comic of the run that started in 2013, though there have been rumblings of another crossover miniseries down the line. (Hint: It’s one of these.)
I admit that when I first heard about this one a year ago that I didn’t think a Batman ’66/Legion of Super-Heroes pairing was a natural fit. Could be personal bias, though, because I’ve never been a big Legion fan.
But I have all the faith in the world in the Allreds to tell a story like this. I mean, just check out Lee’s Twitter banner, illustrated by Mike (with Laura’s colors):
Few creators today have a healthier respect for and understanding of the Silver Age and Batman ’66.
And don’t forget, these guys turned in what remains the single best Batman ’66 issue to date:
