In the 1930s and 1940s, the late Jerry Robinson (born Jan. 1, 1922) was the de facto third member of Batman’s creative Dynamic Duo (consisting of Bob Kane and Bill Finger), ghosting for Kane in the art department on many occasions and helping to develop the Joker and Robin.

Here are 11 Batman illustrations by Robinson, plus two covers of another masked crimefighter and his sidekick.
