13 COVERS: A MAC RABOY Birthday Celebration

The late artist was born 105 years ago…

It’s not often I use the word “lovely” when describing comics art but that’s exactly what comes to mind when I look at the work of Mac Raboy.

Captain Marvel Jr.’s co-creator had a delicate touch compared to many of the artists who plied their trade during the Golden Age and his style remains among the most exquisite in comics history.

The movie Shazam! — which prominently features Freddy Freeman — is still killing it at the box office, so it’s fortuitous timing that Raboy’s birthdate happens to be April 17. (He was born in 1914 and died too young in 1967 at the age of 53.)

Dig these, well, lovely 13 COVERS:
