Strictly on a personal level, George Perez will always be synonymous with The New Teen Titans. That’s where I discovered him and I will always equate him with that team and that book. But I’ve done 13 COVERS salutes featuring his work on the team here, here and here.
So, I started thinking: Superman? No, I want more. Wonder Woman? Same. And what about Marvel?
So I decided to have Perez’s birthday cake and eat it too: 13 COVERS featuring just about every DC and Marvel hero, all from his Bronze Age heyday except for one notable exception, right at the top.
George Perez was born June 9, 1954. Happy 62nd!
