13 BATMAN AND ROBIN COVERS to Make You Feel Good

Just because…

Comic books are kind of a personal thing, y’know?

Your taste is personal, your experiences with them are personal. We also relate to certain characters and certain circumstances, too.

It has a lot to do with just how passionate fans can be.

None of this is rocket science or terribly surprising but it has everything to do with why I feel compelled to post a gallery celebrating Batman and Robin.

I’m a Batfan of the first order, of course, but on a strictly personal level, my son Sam returns to college this week and I’m naturally wistful about it.

It doesn’t take a Freud to equate Batman and Robin with the father-son bond, so here are 13 COVERS that celebrate the greatest partnership in comics history.

Pretty much because I like looking at these right now — and I think you will too, whether you have your own sidekick or not:

Neal Adams. Not a comic, but so what? Glorious!

  1. Nice selection! That Carmine Infantino/Murphy Anderson licensing piece is probably the most classic. I’m also fond of Detective Comics 38 and Batman 183.

  2. Great gallery Dan. That Power Records album cover is near and dear to my heart, as I listened to that over and over, and stared at that front and back sleeve for what seemed like hours. Batman sure liked to run along the beach in the 70s, didn’t he?

I also had that wonderful Infantino poster image, thanks to a reissue from a box of Post cereal in the 70s!!!

  3. With Batman™’s 80th anniversary halfway over, what better way to celebrate the Caped Crusader than by equally celebrating the Boy Wonder as well?

  4. A wonderful gallery! Love the Batman storybook and record with Neal Adams art. I have a Spider-Man one by Power Records. They produced some really attractive covers.
