Wein & Wrightson’s SWAMP THING Gets New Collection This Fall

Just in time for Halloween…

One of comics’ all-time great horror runs is getting a new collection this fall when DC publishes Swamp Thing: The Bronze Age Vol. 1, a paperback collecting the first 13 issues of Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson’s ’70s classic, as well as Swampy’s first appearance in The House of Secrets #92.

  1. I’ll pick it up for the convenience of having HOS 92 & the first 9 issues in a more compact volume.

    But I can’t help feeling that, for that price, the omnibus is a better value.

  2. I agree that the omnibus is the better buy. The quality of the stories dipped severely after Wein left. However, the art on the last few issues of Wein’s run was by the criminally underrated Nestor Redondo. Redondo continued on after Wein left and his art is beautiful to behold, even if the stories don’t measure up to it.

    Not that I don’t recommend this book to those who don’t want the omnibus. You can’t go wrong with Wein and Wrightson.

  3. How can this be called a new collection when the hardback has existed for months? I was hoping for a Vol. 2.
