Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed…
We’ve had a great Bat-time covering Funko’s new 3.75-inch line of Batman ’66 figures, from interviews to reveals to concept art. (The full INDEX of stories can be found here.)
Now, buckle up for something really fun: A 13-pic photo essay by reader Andrew Eades, who runs a Facebook page dedicated to the show — Batman 1966 TV Show (click here) — and a toy-review page called ACE Review (click here). Check ’em out and follow them. Andrew’s got great taste.
Anyway, though it hasn’t hit major retail outlets yet, the Batmobile set is available at certain online retailers and when Andrew got his, he took the time to put together this really cool photo shoot. What I like about it is they look like miniature set pictures from the 1966 show. They did so much filming on back roads, at parks and in fields that this feels right in line with that.
So dig these. If you’ve gotten your set already, I’m sure you can relate to how cool these look. If you haven’t, you have a much better idea of what to look forward to beyond the concept and prototype shots.
Roger, ready to move out…

Why hard capes? Seems cloth makes the most sense.

Funko felt the fabric capes didn’t look as good. They decided on a soft plastic.

Any chance the goon figures will be made? That’s who they had the fights with.

Hard capes look better and less “Kenner Star Wars” Harder to pose, but better looking. I can’t wait to put these in to a little custom project that’s been buzzing around for 20 years asking “But where will we get ’66 Batman figures?”
