A lot of our fave artists made the list this week, like Allred and Steranko. There are some outstanding Dark Knight covers. And Simon Myers is my new hero with his Doctor Who cover.
But I wanna take a quick sec to talk about Kevin Nowlan’s brilliant inking on Neal Adams’ Green Arrow #1 variant. As I wrote a little while ago, I thought Kevin, who’s obviously a big star in his own right as a penciller, was an absolute revelation inking Adams during NEAL ADAMS MONTH (click here) back in February. The covers he worked on were stunning so I was really pleased to see him paired with Adams again this week.
Look at the precise line work and how he improves Adams’ already astounding pencils:
I embarrassed Kevin when I called him the modern equivalent of Dick Giordano. But it’s true — and I just hope DC pairs hims with Adams for a full-on project…
