Two Favorite Bronze Age BATMAN-Related Omnibus Editions Getting Re-Released

The Teen Wonder and the Clown Prince of Crime…

DC will be re-releasing two Bronze Age Batman-related omnibi in 2026, putting back into print fan faves Robin: The Bronze Age Omnibus and The Joker: The Bronze Age Omnibus.

The listings on Penguin Random House’s website only note the basics, such as price, page count and sale date, but I’ve added descriptions from the previous editions. (PRH handles DC in the book market.)

Several thoughts:

— The Joker omnibus originally came out in 2019 and the Robin edition came out in 2020. There were also two Bronze Age Batgirl omnibi, so I imagine we’ll see re-releases of those soon enough.

— The big selling point of the Joker book is its inclusion of the never-published The Joker #10which is bananas great. If you’re not an omnibuyer, though, there may be a less expensive option next year: DC Direct: The Joker — The Big Ha Ha (assuming the ish is included). (UPDATED 8/2/25: It will be.)

— These two books feature some of my favorite stories ever. You cannot go wrong with either. That said, it’d be great if DC got around to publishing more collections of Bronze Age Batman himself. There’s a ton that’s never been put out in book form. (UPDATED 8/2/25: Oh, hooray! The Batman: The Bronze Age Omnibus is coming!)

— In the market for other omnibi re-releases next year — including Batman: The Golden Age Omnibus Vol. 3? Click here.

— Standard caveat: These haven’t been formally solicited yet, so much is subject to change.

    • The only problem with the Robin Omnibus is that it’s missing the issue of Karate Kid he guest started in.

  2. The Omnibus format may allow DC to reprint lots of stories at once, but they are totally not fun to read…costly, huge, heavy, unwieldy, and loads of “gutter loss” takes the fun out of trying to read these stories. If DC is going to make Omnis, they should also offer smaller-volume format choices as well, say 3-smaller volume softcovers for every Omnibus they make, (and it should be very easy to do as they just gathered the material together).
Now let me address the other problem: these 2 Omnis are good examples of DC FINALLY digging out old Bronze Age stories that should’ve been reprinted long ago…same with the recent Bronze Age Green Lantern/Green arrow Omni, there are SO MANY RUNS of 70s Bronze Age main character titles that have yet to be dug out and reprinted, and that’s criminal. Step it up DC, Marvel has the perfect reprint format for silver and Bronze Age with their wonderful Epic Collection line, and you’re missing the boat….Marvel has them clearly numbered in a “collect em all” format that makes sense, while you dance all over the place sloppily with your scattershot “DC Finest” volumes with no proper structure for collectors to be inspired to collect runs of them. A volume on “DC Gorillas” before you reprint runs of bronze Superman, Flash, etc? C’mon now, step it up…

    • DC Finest have the exact same publishing plan as the Epic Collections: Out of order and you collect the runs you want as they accrue, mostly out of sequence.
