More DC FINEST Titles Added to DC’s Early 2026 Lineup

Deadman, Wonder Woman and the Joker! PLUS: New details on The Last Days of Superman…

Last week, we told you about a bunch of DC Finest titles coming early in 2026 but here’s an update: Three more books have been added to the lineup: the Silver/Bronze Age Deadman: How Many Times Can a Guy Die? featuring Neal Adams; the Golden Age Wonder Woman: Enter the Cheetah; and the Silver(?)/Bronze Age The Joker: The Last Ha Ha. Plus, there are now details on the previously reported The Last Days of Superman volume.

Dig the descriptions from Penguin Random House, which distributes DC in the book market:

Now, with the Joker volume, there are more clues than details:

DC FINEST: THE JOKER: THE LAST HA HA

Author: Gardner Fox, Denny O’Neil, David Reed

Several thoughts:

— Classic Neal Adams Deadman in yet another format? You can never have too much Neal Adams.

— Speaking of Adams, the Joker volume obviously includes his and Denny O’Neil’s seminal 1973 Batman #251. Interesting piecing the rest together, based on the cover and listed credits: The Last Ha Ha comes from 1975’s The Joker #3 (the Creeper issue), written by O’Neil with art by Ernie Chan and Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez; David Reed and John Calnan produced 1977’s Batman #294; Elliot S! Maggin also worked on The Joker; Bob Haney wrote the Joker in The Brave and the Bold; and I’m trying to place Gardner Fox (who did write the Joker in at least one Silver Age JLA story) and Frank Springer. It’s Fox especially who leads me to believe this will include material earlier than the Bronze Age. Feel free to post your ideas in the comments.

— An earlier version of this piece did not include the Joker collection. Just to keep the record straight.

Standard caveat: These haven’t been formally solicited yet, so much is subject to change.

  1. I know it is not your fault but it is a Lois Lane tale from Superman Family #183.

Not Superman 183- an excellent 80 Page Giant btw

  2. Also coming: A Joker collection subtitled “The Last Ha Ha”. The subtitle tips that the book will include the Joker series from 1975. No word on other content; full description at a later point. Interesting enough, DC also plans to release next year a new edition of the Joker Bronze Age Omnibus which will share the same content and then some.

  3. Appears to me that the Joker volume will be a chronology of his appearances up to and including the 1975 solo series. I like this. I would buy volumes of most of Batman’s Rogue’s gallery.
