MARK BUCKINGHAM pours a John Romita/Gil Kane cocktail…

In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve been spending an increasing amount of time writing about new covers that pay homage to Golden, Silver and Bronze Age styles. We may even end up making this a standing feature. It’s certainly been rattling around in my brain.
But, whilst I mull, here’s another — Mark Buckingham’s January variant cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #1007:

Buckingham makes his Spidey just how I like him — with “Romita eyes” and with musculature that’s more “man” than “spider.” His Rhino also plays with that ’60s/’70s sensibility.
The ish is due Jan. 6, 2027.
Far out.
