Hell, I’d buy it…
I was just poking around looking for groovy pix and I came upon a 1989 corker by artist Joe Jusko.
Dig this:
Sweet.
It was one of the first Batman paintings Joe ever did — and you can check out another one we’ve run in the past.
His inspirations were clear.
“It was a fan commission after the first Keaton Batman movie came out,” he told me. “It’s heavily influenced by the Batman I was familiar with, specifically Neal Adams and Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.”
Personally, I see some Ernie Chan in the eyes, too, whether or not that was intentional.
But damn if this wouldn’t make a killer variant cover.
I found it at Heritage Auctions’ website, where it sold in 2022 for $8,400, including buyer’s premium.
Here’s the official description:
Joe Jusko – Batman Painting Original Art (1989). A Neal Adams-inspired Dark Knight painted right after the release of the Tim Burton Batman movie. Created with acrylic on illustration board and has an image area of 23″ x 18″. Production tape around the edges, light surface scuffing, and signed by Jusko in the lower right image area. In Excellent condition. Includes a bonus Joker sketch on the back.

Reminds me of those DC posters from the late Seventies.
That series that featured Superman, Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman and Batman where each was painted in a classic pose and a classic comic book panel was added at the bottom?
I always forget who produced those, I had the Shazam! one. ️

I had Batman & Hulk. Have saved images of the others. Got mine at Albertson’s. They had Superman, too. Only had so much wall space available. THOUGHT FACTORY made them.
