Live the G.E.E.C. life!
Now, we’re cooking with gas.
Batcave Podcast host John S. Drew and I are back with another episode of The World’s Greatest Super Friends Podcast and this one’s a doozy: Professor Goodfellow’s G.E.E.C., which first aired Sept. 22, 1973.
This Super Friends ep was easily the most entertaining of the first three and features the series’ first guest superhero appearance when — spoiler alert — Plastic Man shows up briefly as a sort of ductile deus ex machina.
Here’s John’s description of the ep:
Professor Goodfellow has developed the means to make humanity’s life so much more simpler — the G.E.E.C. — a computer system that will run the world and handle all the tasks that occupy humanity and keep them from reaching their full potential. He offers it for free to the world when the US government passes on getting involved. At first, it all seems fine, until a malfunction causes worldwide havoc. While Superman and Aquaman race to rescue as many people as possible, Batman, Robin and Wonder Woman must infiltrate the G.E.E.C complex and shut the computer down.
