THE RETURN OF THE MIGHTY ISIS: The Comic Book That Should Have Been

O zephyr winds, which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly!

One of my favorite artists to follow is Kevin West, who just so happened to attend the same high school as my sisters on the south side of Chicago!

Kevin often does wonderful head and body portraits of Marvel and DC heroes and villains. Recently, he did this absolutely awesome illustration of JoAnna Cameron as Isis, from Filmation’s mid-1970s Saturday morning TV show:

Naturally, I had to color it and turn it into a faux house ad because wouldn’t it have been cool if this had really happened? (Don’t forget, Isis had an eight-issue Bronze Age comics series.)

If you’d like to see more of Kevin’s work, you can follow him on Facebook.

  1. Wish it could have happened! I loved the show and the comic! (Oka, let’s say; “Ancient Sphinx that’s really big/Give Isis another comics gig…”)
