Marvel has two Facsimile Editions coming in December — the first playing off the recent return of Miracleman and the other reprinting Boba Fett’s (and Yoda’s) kinda-sorta comic-book debut: 2014’s Miracleman #1 and 1980’s Star Wars #42.

— Why all the “kinda-sorta” equivocation? Well, this was and wasn’t Boba Fett’s and Yoda’s first comic-book appearance. It’s pretty convoluted, so click here for the back story.
— Obligatory Price Comparison: Nevertheless, it’s this issue that collectors generally prize. An unslabbed, NM/MT original recently sold on eBay for about $414.

Man. Star Wars is really at a cultural low point right now. If Marvel had ran facsimiles of Star Wars #1-6 along with their 1980s adaptions of TESB (I forget the issues, but #42 is one of them) and ROTJ, I bet they’d have sold well.

I would be in for 1-6 (although I already have the facsimile for 1). Funny enough, I just bought reprints of 3 and 5.
I originally bought 4-6 when they came out, then bought the treasury reprinting 1-3. And then the third treasury, with 1-6, came out, so I bought that and got rid of the others. Sadly, the treasury I kept has been lost in time.

Boba Fett is my all-time favorite Star Wars character. I actually play Star Wars: Battlefront on Xbox and I play Boba Fett and Kylo Ren 90% of the time.

Not sure why they don’t reprint all the Star Wars ESB issues, starting with issue #39. OK, this one may be to highlight a Boba Fett mini series, but still… Seems pretty arbitrary.
