The BATCOPTER Returns to Gotham!

You can ride the original TV Batcopter at the Meadowlands — just outside New York City — starting 6/19!

Yep, Gene Nock‘s wonderful flying Batmachine makes its return to the State Fair Meadowlands 6/19 to 7/5.

Yep, this is the same BatcopterN3079G — that debuted in the 1966 Batman movie and made subsequent appearances on the show.

Lemme tell you from personal experience, seeing this lovely craft up close and personal is a bit of Batvana.

And you can ride in it!

The chopper carries two passengers at $50 a pop — and you get two orbits for $10 more. It’s also $10 for a photo with the same copter shared by Adam West and Burt Ward (and their stunt doubles) — and many celebrities over the last 49 years.

Gene and his showbiz family take the Batcopter around the country, most recently to Niagara Falls — where David Hasselhoff and Sean “son of Riddler John” Astin paid it a visit. (Gene calls the Hoff “the youngest 63-year-old I’ve ever met in my life!”)

Anyway, for more info, check out the Batcopter‘s own Facebook page, here.

The Batcopter’s website can be found here.

The State Fair‘s website, which includes hours and ticket prices, can be found here.

I’m going this weekend. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Oh, and in a bit of other Silver Age wonderfulness, there’s also the annual tribute to Palisades Park, familiar to comics readers from these famous DC Comics ads:

So there’s that!

  1. I’d like to go and ride the Batcopter. Just having trouble finding information. Is the Batcopter at the State Fair for the entire time (June 19 – July 5)? Can I get tickets in advance? Please let me know when you can. Thanks!
