SPIDER-MAN Out at Marvel Studios Due to Disney-Sony Split: Report

Gee, it was fun while it lasted…

This just in, folks:

Deadline is reporting that talks between Sony and Disney have broken down and the web-slinger will be leaving the Kevin Feige-run Marvel Studios.

This begs about 1,000 questions and, sure, this could all be a bargaining ploy but click here for Deadline’s report.

  1. Interesting in their updated statement Sony refers to Spidey as “an IP they do not own”. Well, they do actually own it, Sony just owns the movie rights, which I’m sure further ruffled Disney’s feathers.

    This is all pretty sad, and while I think Disney may have been a bit greedier than needed, Sony can’t make a hit picture to save their lives nowadays, and Far From Home’s huge success was definitely it being an epilogue to Endgame, which was the culmination of Marvel and Feige’s hard work for the past 11 years. They should have said yes and can I please have another.
