HOPE YOU LIKE IT: The Art of DAKOTA ALEXANDER…

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially a smash hit, making almost 1 billion dollars worldwide in its first week.

One of the many points of discussion about this newest web-slinging blockbuster is how the movie pays homage to the comics. Specifically, we see quick clips of our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in an action-packed montage of scenes taken from well-known, or even iconic, Spidey covers:

The Spectacular Spider-Man #142 — Tombstone

The Amazing Spider-Man #221 — Ramrod

The Amazing Spider-Man #345 — Boomerang

The Amazing Spider-Man #134 — Tarantula

Amazing Fantasy #15 — the first!

On top of that, the movie has its fair share of great posters, like this one:

So, I got the bright idea to turn that poster into a faux cover — kind of a reverse homage, if you will.

I chose the numbering for The Amazing Spider-Man #233 for a couple of reasons: The issue came out the same year as the legendary 1984 Wolverine miniseries, which featured The Hand. Also, the actual issue itself features Tarantula:

So here it is, my version of The Amazing Spider-Man 233.5!
