During the early 90’s at one of my first San Diego Comic Cons, I showed a pretty crummy portfolio around trying to get work. While several artists and editors wasted my time inflating their own egos, its was DC great Mark Chiarello who was down to earth and gave me some great advice that made the difference. I’ve counted myself incredibly fortunate to have worked with Mark and his talented assistant editor Camilla Zhang on a few projects since then and it’s always been a rewarding experience.
My second most memorable fan experience came just a few weeks ago when one of my fave artists Mark Schultz stopped by my Asbury Park Comicon table and let me know how much he liked my work. Too cool! I’m still a fanboy at heart!
