Marvel’s solicitations are out Thursday and there’s a gigantic treat in there for fans of fantastical art — the Ditko Is… Strange! King-Size hardcover.
What, pray tell, is a King-Size hardcover? Well, Marvel has been taking a page out of IDW’s book of late and producing massive volumes reprinting the work of (mostly) Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko at roughly the size of original art pages.
Unlike IDW’s Artist’s Editions, however, which replicate said original art at the pencil or ink stages, these King-Size editions present the stories as originally published.
So if you’ve ever wanted to experience Ditko’s mind-blowingly colorful Dr. Strange stories at as big a size as you’ll likely ever see, this one’s for you.

— The release date is set for June 10, 2020.

— I’m a much bigger Spidey fan than a Dr. Strange fan but I gotta say I think I’m looking forward to seeing this second volume even more than the first. Just imagine this image in enormous scale:

Massive is rather hyperbolic. It’s basically an average size collection. A thousand page+ omnibus would be “massive.”

You misunderstand, Greg. It’s not massive in page count. It’s massive by dimension: Trim size: 13-5/8 x 21-1/4. That’s huge. More than a foot wide. Almost 2 feet tall.
