It’s… ROBIN WEEK!

An 85th ANNIVERSARY celebration of the world’s greatest sidekick…

March 6 is the 85th anniversary of 1940’s Detective Comics #38 — the debut of Robin.

Perfect time for our third ROBIN WEEK (the last one was five years ago, for the Boy Wonder’s 80th anniversary).

So what does this mean? It means seven days of brand-spankin’ new tributes to one of comics’ greatest characters, from our crew of 13th Dimension regulars.

We’re already up and running, so check out the links below. In fact, bookmark this post because we’ll be updating it with links as we go along throughout ROBIN WEEK!

And, hey, how about that banner up there by Walt Grogan!

Right on.

  1. Well, I shall look forward to this week! I’ve always liked Robin, especially when he is made to be very intelligent and quite capable (so he’s the natural leader of the Titans compared to his superpowered colleagues–and holds his own quite well) rather than an idiot so Batman can show his brilliance (1970s Batman). So, an enthusiastic yea to Marv Wolfman! And a stern boo to Denny O’Neil! . . .

And I always had a fondness for his Earth-2 grown up self (and of either costume)–that I wish DC would have made prominent, including even more Robin / Robin team ups (like in JLA #s 91 and 92) or even Nightwing / Robin team ups (would have loved to hear the different takes on respective Batmans here since our two Dick Graysons have different superhero trajectories) and even more Earth-1 Batman and Earth-2 Robin team ups (as in B&B # 182).

    Thanks for the announcement, Dan!

  2. Will there be a Joker Week or Catwoman Week? They also turn 85 this year!

      • Awesome! I wonder if DC will be doing anything for Robin, Joker, or Catwoman’s 85 this year?
