A few thoughts:

— The mags will be available at comics shops and booksellers but you can already pre-order through TwoMorrows. Click here.

— Novick has long been a personal favorite. For some fans, his work on The Flash was the standout but for me he will always been one of the essential Batman artists. He was superb as Neal Adams’ back-up in the early ’70s and drew some of my all-time favorite comics when he was the main penciller on Batman in the late ’70s and early ’80s. The Lazarus Affair is his magnum opus.

  1. Yes! Novick’s Flash is what I grew up on, long before I knew how to recognize the styles of different artists. Love his work. Can’t wait for this, thanks for the heads up!

  2. Novick was a favorite artist of mine when I first started reading comics in the 70s. To this day he’s probably my #1 favorite Barry Allen artist. And he had those Rogues down pat.

  3. Irv Novick’s Flash run is an underrated Bronze Age highlight and he is one of the great Batman artists of the era. It’s about time that Irv got his due.

  4. Loved his work on the flash, and my favorite run of Batman was his late 70’s run with the reformed Selina.
He also gave us some great work on some less than stellar Lois Lane stories!

  5. IRV NOVICK WAS THE TRUE GRAND MASTER IN PENCILING AND INKING. HIS REALISTIC DRAWING OF CHARACTERS AND BATMAN WAS SUPERB,,,HIS BRILLANT DRAWING AND ARTWORK INFLUENCED MANY OTHERS INCLUDING NEAL ADAMS..AND APARO…..IRV NOVIC WAS BEFORE NEAL ADAMS…AND IT SURPRISED ME THAT IT WAS IRV NOVIC WHO DID ALL THE PENCILING DRAWINGS FOR THE CLASSIC BATMAN 227…- NEAL ADAMNS DID ONLY THE COVER !!!…IRV NOVICK CONTINUED HIS MASTERY IN DECTECTIVE COMICS, THE FLASH, SUPERMAN, BRAVE AND THE BOLD……FROM 1968 TO 1976,,,IRV WAS THE BEST ARTIST UNDISPUTED….ADAMS – SECOND…APARO THIRD
