Introducing… HOPE YOU LIKE IT: The Art of DAKOTA ALEXANDER

Another weekly feature in the 13th Dimension lineup — premiering on this very Thanksgiving Day!

You’re familiar with Dakota Alexander, I’m sure. He’s an American ex-pat artist living in Japan whom we’ve featured many times over the years, and who is quite prolific on social media.

I even once wrote a piece called GORGEOUS ART: Why MARVEL or DC Should Hire DAKOTA ALEXANDER as a Cover Artist.

Well, now I get to welcome Dakota as our latest weekly regular here at 13th Dimension, with the feature HOPE YOU LIKE IT: THE ART OF DAKOTA ALEXANDER.

The first installment — which you can find here — is appropriately Thanksgiving themed. Not only that, Dakota will be taking a Thursday slot on the regular, filling the last day of the week without a standing feature.

“I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California,” sez Dakota. “I got into reading comics at a young age and my LCS is Atlantis Fantasyworld — the very same as was featured in The Lost Boys. Drawing comic art came soon after but it wasn’t until after I had been living in Japan for about 10 years that I decided to make it my full-time passion.

“My favorite vibe for comic art is Bronze Age and my work has been featured in several projects, such as The Liberty Brigade, The Masters, Charon 13, and G.H.O.S.T. Agents.

“Currently my full-time focus is my own comic, The Hunter, which I write, draw, color, and letter,” he adds. “The Hunter is a love letter to Bronze Age superhero monster fighting — done in a cover-to-cover, authentic-style presentation. The Hunter is the reader’s time-travel ticket back into the early ’80s Marvel Comics experience, told with a fresh new character and brand new adventures!

“For more information on The Hunter, you can take a look at our Kickstarter page for Issue #1.

“And, for a better look at my art library, please check out my Etsy — Drums of the Serpent — which very soon will make available copies of The Hunter.”
