SUNDAY FUNNIES WITH KERRY CALLEN!

I’ve created several Superhero “Funnies” for MAD Magazine since its relaunch in 2018. Aside from a few Peanuts parodies, I have never shared much of them here at 13th Dimension. Let’s change that, starting with Aquaman, the first Funnies I created:
This was shortly after the first Aquaman movie, starring Jason Momoa, debuted in December 2018. (Of course, due to the printing schedule, I had to write and draw it before seeing the movie.)
MAD #6, with Joker Funnies, came out shortly following, in 2019. I really like the aesthetics that fellow 13th Dimension columnist Bill Morrison brought to the book while he was at the magazine.

Since that time, MAD has reverted to its original numbering, with the upcoming issue numbered #601, hitting the stands in mid-August. I have no work in it, but the Halloween-themed issues are always fun!

This is wonderfully clever and funny with nods to Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side and Dilbert. Love ’em all, but the Seanuts one is my favorite as it is closest in spirit to the mocking humor Aquaman has received over the decades over his seemingly limited powers (even if I don’t agree with this).
I hope you do more of these!
