Archie Comics 85th Anniversary Presents Betty and Veronica Fashion Pages One-Shot, Archie. I’ve long wanted a special that focuses just on B&V’s fashions, which are historically smashing, baby!

With two Dan DeCarlo variants. (All three covers available in standard and foil.):

Batman: Bad Seeds — Sunset #1, DC. Kicking off the latest Bat-event in earnest. I have mixed feelings, but I’m in for the basics (plus the Gotham Central and Gotham General offshoots).

Action Comics #1 Facsimile Edition, DC. The latest one. What makes this one distinct? It’s the first time we’ve gotten it in current size, with the UPC symbol on the back, and in foil and logo sketch variant covers. We’ve gotten it that way in the Golden Age size. Just being of service.

Avengers/JLA #4, DC/Marvel. Wraps the Facsimile Edition run…

… complete with the right half of Alex Ross’ connecting variant covers.

There’s a pretty cool Gabriele Dell’Otto variant that homages George Perez, too. (Click here for more on that.)

The Greatest American Hero #2, AMP Comics. Loved the show. Not really interested in the comic, but I do dig this variant cover by Eranga Devasurendra.

Green Lantern #38, DC. Condiment King!

Black Cat #13, Marvel. I dig Kevin Wada’s Mary Jane 60th anniversary variant. Best one we’ve seen so far.

Batman: The Long Halloween — The Last Halloween, DC. I didn’t catch this as a monthly, so I think it’s time to give this a look.

Dan adds: This trade paperback is most definitely worth a look for the round-robin roster of artists — including Cliff Chiang, Bill Sienkiewicz, Chris Samnee, Eduardo Risso, and many others, including our pal Mark Chiarello — all paying tribute to Tim Sale.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, DC. The “grim and gritty” ’80s Frank Miller classic gets a glossy new 40th anniversary edition trade paperback.

The EC Archives: The Complete Valor, Dark Horse. Probably the most underexposed of EC’s legendary line of comics, Valor’s tales of historical combat featured art from greats like Wally Wood, Bernie Krigstein and Al Williamson.
