Batman #12, DC. Enter Verity Pennyworth, the new head of the Wayne household! I have nothing to base this on, but I wonder with writers’ and artists’ disdain for AI, this is a way of allowing AI Alfred to shuffle off this mortal coil for good. I don’t think Alfred would have approved, anyway. (That said, they never should have killed him off to begin with.)

Detective Comics #27 Facsimile Edition, DC. I have enough copies of the ‘Tec ’27 Facsimile Edition, but I am totally down for the Super Powers variant. Hope they make this fig in McFarlane’s final wave.

Rom Epic Collection: The Original Marvel Years Vol. 5, Marvel. Perhaps my favorite era of Mantlo’s ROM, with returning legend Steve Ditko on pencils, and every major name in the Bullpen at the time clamoring to get a chance to provide inks.

DC Finest: Justice League of America: Crisis on Earth-X, DC. Any JLA/JSA team-up is a must-buy.

DC needs to just accept that they made a mistake in killing Alfred and just resurrect him already!
I don’t care if they just did another “Outsider” stunt to bring him back like they did the last time he was foolishly killed off in continuity.
Batman comics have been MEH ever since they took Alfred out of the cast of characters. He was the heart of the story that actually made Bruce more relatable.

DC actually thinks that by removing Alfred from the story that Bruce somehow grows as a character.
All it really did was take away the main character in which he always confided in. The only person who always understood his motivations and would reprimand him when necessary.
Bruce is a big man child. It’s the key to his whole existence. Losing his parents at a young age, the vow, the outlandish costume, the gadgets. It’s a child’s response to coping with trauma.
From one of my favorite Batman comic runs-
“Alfred, if anyone ever asks for an obituary, tell them Batman’s big secret was a classic whodunnit? Only it’s not about who killed Batman, but who kept him alive all these years.”

At least we have some alright recent stories to enjoy. Like Dark Patterns, Batman/Superman Worlds Finest, and Batman & Robin Dynamic Duos.

I wish the Justice League DC Finest started with issue 100 instead of 103, so Len Wein’s entire run had been included. Wein’s run on JLA is one of my favorites, but that is true about his runs on several books.
I do like Mary Jane, but let’s just call her “one of” the sexiest instead of THE sexiest. My heart has always belonged to Barbara Gordon *sigh*Batgirl*sigh*. Catwoman and Poison Ivy would be up there too.
I’m disappointed that Verity Pennyworth didn’t turn out to be Daphne Pennyworth form Batman 216 and 227.
