Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

—
Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension
Avengers/JLA #2, DC/Marvel. Continuing the re-release of the Busiek/Perez classic. There’s a pretty cool Dan Mora wraparound variant too.

—
Batman #11, DC. The last page of the last issue (no spoilers) was one of the best moments of the series. The Ojo — originally billed as Lady Death Man, which apparently has been dropped — returns to menace the Caped Crusader as Vandal Savage keeps the squeeze on.

—
Batman #127 Facsimile Edition, DC. Batman vs. Thor! Not that Thor, this Thor!

—
George Perez’s New Teen Titans Artist’s Edition, DC/Act 4. Not even buying this. Just putting at the top of my Chanukah list.

—
Archie Comics Celebrates America’s 250th, Archie. A special ish featuring a nice collection of American history tales with the Riverdale gang. I’m getting the Stan Goldberg cover adapted from 1976’s Life With Archie #172.

—
Marvel Swimsuit Special: Brand New Beach Day #1, Marvel. The House of Ideas claims — winkingly — that this one will be “SEXIER THAN EVER!”

—
Your Choice, Snoopy, Titan. The latest Facsimile Edition from Titan. Includes stories from 1967, part of the Golden Age of the strip.

—
Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension
X-Men Epic Collection: Mutant Massacre, Marvel. As a kid reader, I was really disturbed by the Mutant Massacre storyline. It’s going to be interesting to go back and read it again through somewhat more jaded eyes.

—
Robin: Year One, DC. One of my favorite retellings of Robin’s early adventures, by Chuck Dixon, Scott Beatty, and Javier Pulido.

—
Captain America by Mark Gruenwald Omnibus Vol. 3, Marvel. While the later years of this run weren’t as satisfying as its beginnings, I can never fail to recommend Captain America by Mark Gruenwald. Plus: Cap-Wolf. ‘Nuff said.
