HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

Batman #251 Facsimile Edition, DC. Hey, did you know it’s JOKER WEEK? Well, dig this note-perfect reprint of the greatest single issue in comics history — and the #1 choice in our TOP 13 JOKER STORIES ranking (click here). (For an EXCLUSIVE INSIDE LOOK at the Facsimile Edition, click here.)

Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #2, DC. Brian Michael Bendis and an all-star crew of artists continue to map out DC’s fictional future.

Flash Giant #1, DC. DC’s new run of 100-page comics launches here. There are two new stories – by Gail Simone and Clayton Henry and Jeff Parker and Miguel Mendonca – plus three reprints. For $4.99. Worth a shot.

Bizarre Adventures #1, Marvel. Another of Marvel’s 80th anniversary one-shots. The House of Ideas brings back one of its more offbeat titles, with a bunch of creators bringing you new stories starring Shang-Chi, Dracula and more.

Grendel: Devil’s Odyssey #1, Dark Horse. Matt Wagner returns to the world of his signature character. (Or one of them anyway.)

Marvel Comics #1001, Marvel. Another helping of anniversary tales, following up Marvel Comics #1000.

Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension

Dollar Comics: The Joker #1, DC Comics. This 1970s Joker solo series was so weird, I’m delighted to see reprints of it in any format back on the racks. [NOTE from Dan: I not only concur, you should check out JOKER WEEK. This issue made our TOP 13 JOKER STORIES ranking.(Click here).]

Man-Wolf Complete Collection TPB, Marvel. I admit it. I’m a sucker for John Jameson Man-Wolf stories, all the way back to when I had this issue as a Peter Pan record. Do I really need them all collected in a single volume? Yes. Yes, I do.

Namor the Sub-Mariner by John Byrne and Jae Lee Omnibus HC, Marvel. I always thought Byrne’s Namor series was his best sustained serious work following his return to Marvel after his Superman days.
