HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

Detective Comics #1000, DC. You might have heard this one is coming. No? Click here. Or maybe click here. Or both! Peter Tomasi and Doug Mahnke have a big story in this one, but they’re joined by a wrecking crew of fellow Batcreators, such as Neal Adams, Denny O’Neil, Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Paul Dini, Warren Ellis, Kevin Smith, Jim Lee, Brian Michael Bendis and many others.

Dial H for Hero #1, DC. Sam Humphries and Joe Quinones bring back the fizzy Silver Age cult classic as part of Bendis’ Wonder Comics imprint. Dial H pops up every once in awhile. Let’s hope this one gets a nice run.

The Incredible Hulk #181 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. Love the True Believers dollar reprints. Love these $3.99 full-issue reprints even more. I hope there’s a Count Dante ad in this one. I’ve never actually read an actual Hulk #181 copy, so I have no idea.

Action Comics #1009, DC. Clark and Lois go undercover as Leviathan rises. By Bendis and Steve Epting. Whee!

GLOW #1, IDW. I really dig the show, so I kinda have to find out how it works as a comic. From Tini Howard and Hannah Templer.

Scott Tipton, co-owner, Blastoff Comics, North Hollywood, Calif.

Batgirl: The Bronze Age Omnibus Vol. 2 HC, DC. Collected for the first time here are the hard-to-find Batgirl stories from the pages of Batman Family and Detective Comics. For you Barbara Gordon completists out there, this is for you.

Secret Avengers by Remender Complete Collection TPB, Marvel. Rick Remender had a great little Avengers run a few years back, with a really unique team roster. Good to have it all under one cover.

Sgt. Fury Epic Collection: The Howling Commandos TPB, Marvel. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s original WWII-era tales, finally collected in full color! Wa-hoo!
