Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to this week …
—
Scott Tipton, co-owner, Blastoff Comics, North Hollywood, Calif.
Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons & Dragons #1, IDW Publishing/Oni Press. I have no idea what to expect from this book, but I know I’m not gonna miss it. By Patrick Rothfuss, Jim Zub, Troy Little and crew.
—
Batgirl Annual #2, DC Comics. A new era for Batgirl begins with this annual from new writer Mairghread Scott and the amazing Elena Casagrande on line art!
—
Batman: The Brave and the Bold – The Bronze Age Omnibus Vol. 2 HC, DC Comics. More of the classic Batman team-up tales of my youth, by the longtime B&B team of Bob Haney and Jim Aparo!
—
Fantastic Four: Behold Galactus HC, Marvel. All the best Galactus stories in a gigantic volume that emulates the size of the original art! By Lee, Kirby, Buscema and Byrne!
—
Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension
Harley Quinn/Gossamer Special #1, DC. My stars! Y’know that red-headed monster Bugs Bunny torments with sadistic salon treatments? He’s got a name: Gossamer. Never knew that. This special is by Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Sholly Fisch, Pier Brito and co.

Fantastic Four Facsimile Edition, Marvel. If I have a beef with Marvel’s series of True Believers dollar reprints, it’s that the issues aren’t true reproductions. There are no vintage ads and whatnot. But to mark FF’s return earlier this month, the House of Ideas decided to do a full-on reprint of Stan and Jack’s Fantastic Four #1 at $3.99. The Big Two need to do more of these. I mean, one of the best things about DC’s Famous 1st Edition treasuries in the ’70s was getting the original ads!
—
Hunt for Wolverine: Dead Ends #1, Marvel. Charles Soule and Ramon Rosanas set you up for Younger Man Logan’s return next month.
—
X-Men: Grand Design – Second Genesis #2, Marvel. The second part of the second part of Ed Piskor’s mutant project. (Click here for a SNEAK PEEK.)
